Hi Ed.
A friend of mine is a Real Madrid-fan and very much enjoys whenever I send him information about which clubs are interested in which players.
I was therefore wondering, if you had the time to write about Real Madrid and the players that they are interested in? I very much understand it if you have not got the time, though!

{Ed002's Note - LB, CB, CM, W/F, F

Diego Carlos (CB) preferred CB replacement for Ramos - €75M single payment required.
Milan Skriniar (CB) seen as a potential amos replacement.
Kalidou Koulibaly (CB) another potential SR replacement.
Ngolo Kante (DM/CM) will chase him if PSG make a bid and Chelsea are open to selling
Eduardo Camavinga (DM/CM) if the player continues his good performances Rennes will look for a summer auction. Serious approaches for Camavinga have been made by Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs, with interest also being shown by Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Genk. A move to England for the kiddie is less likely than a move to Spain because of Work Permit issues. He is a long way from first team material if he steps up in the summer.
Donny van der Beek (CM) primary target but Real Madrid are concerned that the price is being pushed up by the interest of other clubs - it will get to the point where they may stick with Fede Valverde plus perhaps Ruiz.
Fabian Ruiz (CM) is seen by Real Madrid as a replacement for Kroos and/or Modric but is not first choice and Napoli will demand a very significant fee. Barcelona also keen.
Paul Pogba (CM) split opinion about him and club will look to move away unless Manchester United are open to taking players as part of a deal. Money remains an issue unless Bale or another can be included.
Eriksen (AM) an approach by Manchester United may be viable in January – but the player wants Real Madrid and Real Madrid will look to him if space can be made available in the squad - and the preference will be for the summer (but it is something his agent is working on). Juventus also retain an interest but he is not first choice - and their first choice looks unlikely.}
Kylian Mbappe (RW/F) primary target
Mo Salah (RW) is unlikely after kicking his agent out over ridiculous demands on more than one occasion - but player still feels that this might be his best chance to move to Real Madrid - but talks have again happened with Barcelona – I think he will stay at Liverpool.
Jadon Sancho (RW) - option to Mbappe but may not wait until the summer.
Ferran Torres (RW) only 19 and fears for game time - but a very bright prospect.
Neymar (LW/RW) will likely be heading elsewhere.
Raheen Sterling (LW/RW) Real Madrid are still looking at a major revamp and are using Eden Hazard on the LW which was not their plan. They have plans to bring in a specific RW and a couple of alternatives but are likely need to hold on to Asensio who they would rather let move on once fully fit. They have a bunch of senior players they have available for horse trading, particularly Isco and Bale and will look to include them in any deal. I am not aware of any approach for Sterling at this time and it sounds rather speculative, but it is not out of the question.
Erling Haaland (F) will head elsewhere.}

Could we get a list of possible departures Ed002? Thanks

{Ed002's Note - Dani Carvajal (RB) Odriozola will be first pick going forward and the club are looking to promote from within (Sergio Lopez)
Marcelo (LB)
Sergio Reguilón (LB) will be assessed on return from Sevilla

Jesus Vallejo (CB) will be assessed on return from Wolves
Nacho Fernandez (CB)
Sergio Ramos (CB) maybe will take a couple of years playing elsewhere and then a final year back at Sevilla
Raphael Varane (CB) would be available for a very significant offer but is expected to stay

Casemiro (DM) will likely stay

Toni Kroos (CM) available but expensive
Luka Modric (CM) time has come
Dani Ceballos (CM) want by Milan but again cost may be an issue
Brahim Diaz (CM) will perhaps go on loan

Isco (AM) up in the air still but there is serious interest from Manchester City and Juventus
James Rodriguez (AM) available with Bayern Munich pushing him out - offered to several sides with Napoli showing some interest - could be used in a part exchange or sold
Martin Odegaard (RW/AM) will stay on two year loan with an unusual clause
Lucas Vazquez (RW)
Gareth Bale (W) is available to be sold or used in a part exchange deal but nobody is interested at this time given the asking price - seen as one of the main reasons that the rebuild will take longer than planned as he wants to stay
Vinicius Jr (LW) It has not been working out well for the player in Spain and Wolves have shown an interest in him but he would only be a second string to Diego Jota - and the asking price (circa €60M - although they may accept less) is seen as high. Arsenal have been approached but with Saka emerging on the left it is the issue of Pepe on the right and Aubameyangadingdong in the centre or left that needs the most consideration - but he shares and agent with Martinelli so there may be a discussion. Chelsea have also been approached as he would provide an option to Hudson-Odoi on the left allowing Pulisic to move to his more natural right side. Others have been approached but none would be in a position to look for more than a loan and Real Madrid need players gone to continue their rebuild.
Marco Asensio (AM/LW) interest from Inter and was offered as part of a deal with an English side but the player has said he does not want to leave and that is also the position of Florentino Perez – serious knee injury so expect him to stay
Karim Benzema (S) signed a new contract but is available – being pushed toward Lyon and PSG has an interest - and he could be used in a deal for Mbappe.
Mariano Diaz (S) wanted by Milan – but money is an issue

Dear Ed's,

Can you shed some light over why Bales move to China has fallen through?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The Chinese are happy to offer very, very high wages but do not want to pay a transfer fee.}

Hi Ed002,
There are reports coming out that Bale’s proposed move to China has fallen through.
Does this effect their pursuit of Pogba in any way and secondly is Madrid having second thoughts on Zidane?
Thanks again.

{Ed002's Note - Real MAdrid need to raise funds by selling players - Bale makes a big hole in the wages but right now the deal is not good for Madrid. James will be gone shortly and they still want Pogba.}

Any chance you could share a little knowledge on the Kubo transfer to Madrid. I know barca tried and am i right in thinking, that transfer caused their ban?

Just wondered how madrid ended up successful where barca failed.

Also, is he as good as they say? Looks an incredible talent from the little I've seen. Seems quite down to earth also, which is good in this day and age with all the social media bull.

Thanks in advance

{Ed002's Note - Kubo was instrumental with regards to the bann. Many clubs looked to sign him - including again Barleona - but Real Madrid won out a while back. He will be down to earth given he is a Japanese kiddie - but as you sal one of the emerging talents from the Far East. Take a look at Lee from Valencia if you like Far Eastern kiddies - small but tasty.}

Morning ED,

Are you able to give any indications on Real Madrid's summer transfer plans/ targets?

Im expecting them to invest heavily and with Zidane now back do they have clear targets?

Thanks Ed.

{Ed002's Note - It is something like this:

Real Madrid would like a LB, A CB, possibly two, two CM, one AM, one RW, one LW, a Striker and a versatile Forward to move their rebuild on. They do not want to make a change to the goalkeepers unless pressed in to it.

Kepa Arrizabalaga (G) don't be surprised by a significant offer if a G is required
David De Gea (G) don't be surprised by a significant offer if a G is required but interest also from elsewhere

Junior Firpo (LB) preferred option
Nicolas Tagliafico (LB) looking less likely

Eder Militao (CB) expensive but done
William Saliba (CB) one for the future but a great deal of interest from elsewhere - looking unlikely
Mario Hermoso (CB) - Real Madrid have an option to take him back at a fixed fee seeing him as cheap cover. They were going to take him in January to see the season out and then decide what to do with him in the longer term - but the player fears the lack of game time at Real Madrid and will likely reject the opportunity.
Kalidou Koulibaly (CB) only if Varane leaves

Declan Rice (DM) has been watched but a move remains unlikely, certainly this summer

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM) lost out on FdJ and a less grief option to Pogba.
Miralem Pjanic (CM) - after losing out on FdJ and Saul, RM are looking to Pjanic or possibly Rabiot or SMS to replace Kroos
Paul Pogba (CM)
Adrien Rabiot (CM) - issues with his "agent"; if they can be overcome then something can happen

Joao Felix (AM) - may be too expensive given other needs
Bruno Fernandes (AM) - if nothing can be done with JF
Nicolo Zaniolo (AM) - money may not stretch, lots of interest from elsewhere and player wants to stay in Rome - unlikely
Nabil Fekir (AM) watched again - interest gone
Paulo Dybala (AM/F) RM not convinced that the transition to Spain will be an easy one for him, but he remains an option
Pablo Sarabia (AM/W) - Real Madrid has an option and the player turned down the offer to join Chelsea mid season but both Chelsea and PSG will look to a summer move whilst Sevilla will look to a new contract
Christian Eriksen (AM) unlikely

Kylian Mbappe (RW/F) - seen as the Ronaldo replacement

Eden Hazard (LW/RWAM//F)
Sadio Mane (LW/F) Zidane was interested in SM before he moved to Liverpool and his performances this season mean that they could look again - but at this time I am not aware of any approach to Liverpool, but I cannot say if there has been an approach to his agents - would be a fall back position
Julian Brandt (LW/AM) fall back position
Neymar (LW) not going to happen

Luka Jovic (F) complicated but someone is trying to address that
Mauro Icardi (S) RM are considering their options for the striker postion, and the potential grief certain players can bring

Outbound:

Thibault Courtois (G) situation needs resolving
Keylor Navas (G) situation needs resolving

Dani Carvajal (RB) Odriozola will be first pick and the club are looking to promote from within (Sergio Lopez)
Marcelo (LB)
Theo Hernandez (LB)

Jesus Vallejo (CB)
Nacho Fernandez (CB)
Sergio Ramos (CB) maybe will take a couple of years playing elsewhere and then a final year back at Sevilla - perhaps not this summer
Raphael Varane (CB)

Casemiro (DM) will likely stay

Toni Kroos (CM) available but expensive
Luka Modric (CM) time has come

Isco (AM) up in the air still

Gareth Bale (W) is available to be sold or used in a part exchange deal but nobody is interested at this time - seen as one of the main reasons that the rebuild will take longer than planned as he wants to stay
Marco Asensio (AM/LW) interest from Inter offered as part of a deal with an English side but the player has said he does not want to leave

Karim Benzema (S) signed a new contract but is available

Even tho bale wants to stay would they not take a hit on him and lower his price?

Why have they left it till now ed to buy a whole squad nearly?

Thanks ed002 for the summary.

Is there any interest in Raphael Varane if so which clubs if your happy to share that information.

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - Raphael Varane (CB) was of prior interest of Mr Mourinho when at Manchester United and even if that interest were to return a discussion has already been held with another side - plus Madrid will try and tempt him to stay, although he wants out. I suspect he could easily be priced out of a move by RM looking to block the transfer. Juventus also had an enquiry rejected.}

Graham Hunter seems to think that Jose is likely to become Real manager in the summer.
Is this in line with your knowledge of the situation?

Ed can you shed any light on Gareth bales situation? Seems very unhappy at Madrid and increasingly outcast, not used/ trusted by 2 zidane or solari. surely he will leave this summer, and gave to take a sizeable pay cut to do so?

{Ed001's Note - he can't speak Spanish, doesn't try hard enough, the fans hate him (in large part because he won't even try to speak Spanish despite living in Spain for 6 years) and he is always injured. Solari would love to get rid, as would Zidane before him. The only reason he is still there is because Perez loves his marketing potential. It all comes down to Perez.}

I see. Not ideal then. do you think he will go this summer? The whole storming down the tunnel after a win just seems to me like he doesn't want to be there at all. Are any clubs even interested in him anymore?

Thanks for the reply

{Ed001's Note - I think Perez has finally had enough of him now after this incident, so there is every chance that they will try to get rid. It is not that easy though, there is very little interest in him any more. Spurs would love him back but will not pay his wages.}

Hi eds, i know you mentioned a while ago about the rebuild on going at madrid. I was wondering if you had any updates regarding time scales and targets? Cheers!

{Ed002's Note - The club accept it will take longer than planned and there has been disruption with the change of coach and results. In terms of targets they remain pretty much the same but I would add that they will certainly look to taking Mario Hermoso back as cover - but the player may well reject the chance for fears that he will have little or no game time. The plans with adding Exequiel Palacios and Rodrygo Goes in January remain as they are which will see the effort to move a couple of players on to bring money in rather than make space. There would be several of the summer targets like Dele Alli, Antoine Griezmann, Julian Draxler, Leon Goretzka and Toby Alderweireld who have moved elsewhere or see interest drift away.}
