Hi ed002 i was wondering what midfielders we will be looking at to potentially bring in the summer? Thanks and enjoy your day
{Ed002's Note - Adam Wharton (DM/CM) Manchester City are already considering an offer for 2025, knowing that Real Madrid may do the same. The injury to Rodri will hasten the matter.
Alexis Mac Allister (CM) Was on the 2025 list for Real Madrid but their interest has now shifted to another player.
Enzo Fernandez (CM) Looked at by Barcelona but most certainly on the 2025 list for Real Madrid who may look to a part exchange involving Aurelien Tchouameni following initial discussions with Chelsea.
Warren Zaire-Emery (CM) Manchester City, Dortmund and Real Madrid remain interested and there may well be an offer from Madrid in January. Dortmund can be discounted.
Florian Wirtz (AM/F) Arrived as a replacement for Havertz and made an immediate impact with admirers in Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, PSG, Liverpool and Bayern Munich sending scouts. Newcastle have a very experienced third party continuing scouting players in Germany for them and have also looked at Wirtz. He signed a new long-term contract in 2024 but struggled to play early last season due to serious injury. Newcastle remain keen if he could prove his fitness but chances of them signing him are very low. Bayer Leverkusen will not want to sell and will point to the length of his contract. Chelsea have him on a list of possible AM additions but have a preferred option and can likely be discounted. Liverpool have not made any offer for the player as many of the fans think and can likely be discounted with other English sides. Expect Bayern Munich or Real Madrid to try to negotiate a transfer, probably Real Madrid would be favourites but the player himself wants a move to Bayern Munich. The future of Xabi Alonso may be critical and he could potentially make his move to Real Madrid a year earlier than planned - so next summer. A wildcard would be Barcelona or Manchester City.}

Brilliant info, ed002 can I ask are we looking to sell Tchouameni and who is interested? Much appreciated
{Ed002's Note - Aurelien Tchouameni (CM/DM) Real Madrid say they do not wish to sell but with a further dip in form have again spoken to with Chelsea, who were previously blocked from completing negotions for the player, about him during discussions over two other players and some deal of exchange may be possible. Bayern Munich have also told Real Madrid that they will be interested if he were to be made available, but they would like a loan with an option to buy although an part exchange will no longer be possible with Davies next summer, as he will be a Free Agent.}

Hi ed002, any chance of a list of ins/outs targets if you have time, thanks alot
{Ed002's Note - Potential Departures
Kepa Arrizabalaga (G) Back to Chelsea to be sold and then perhaps Middle East. A wildcard would be Inter Milan if the price is right.
Vinicius Tobias (RB) His time on loan at Real Madrid Castilla has been so so but Real Madrd will not meet the terms of their obligation to buy as they see the €15M fee as too high for the Brazilian. Will be offered around.
Ferland Mendy (LB) Available - injury concerns. Will be offered to Bayern Munich in part echange for Davies. Will be offered to Manchester United and Arsenal, perhaps even Chelsea. Hard to see any of these clubs biting.
Fran Garcia (LB) With the arrival of a new LB either Mendy or Garcia will depart.
Nacho Fernandez (CB) Free Agent in the summer.
Rafa Marín (CB) Real Madrid youngster who Chelsea has an interest in. PSG are also quite keen. Will return from loan in the summer and a decision will be made.
Eduardo Camavinga (CM/DM) Real Madrid will persist with the player who is playing well but is supported by Ancelotti who takes the time to explain instructions to him - the next coach may not take that time. Will stay and will agree a new contract although Arsenal are looking for a replacement for two players who are similar and departing in the summer, but not top of their list.
Aurelien Tchouameni (CM/DM) Real Madrid do not wish to sell but recovering the money spent last year would go a long way towards topping up the Mbappe pot. Real Madrid has spoken to with Chelsea, who were previously blocked from completing negotions for the player, about him during discussions over two other players and some sort of exchange may be possible. Bayern Munich have also told Real Madrid that they will be interested if he were to be made available, but they would like a loan with an option to buy although an exchange may be possible with Davies. Manchester United would be interested in taking him if available. There is no declared interest from elsewhere and any move seems unlikely. Previously illegally tapped up by Klopp but Liverpool have other targets.
Federico Valverde (CM) New contract and staying.
Tony Kroos (CM) Being offered around - wages will be an issue. Will be a Free Agent in the summer but I suspect a one year extention will be agreed leading up to retirement and allowing Real Madrid one more year to save spending on a replacemnt.
Luca Modric (CM) will leave as a Free Agent in the summer. I would think perhaps the Middle East. Dinamo Zagreb want him and Athletico offer a chance to stay in La Liga.
Dani Ceballos (CM) Signed a new contract - but may just be available.
Brahim Diaz (AM) Aston Villa and West Ham have a declared interest with Liverpool and Arsenal having sent scouts. Chelsea interest is wide of the mark and the talks with Madrid were over another player. Player has no interest in leaving Real Madrid and they will not look to sell as he is having a very good season - although they could be tempted by an offer above €50M.
Rodrygo Goes (F/S) Real Madrid have no interest in selling but PSG did ask for him as part of a deal for Mbappe before he let his contract run down. Many Liverpool fans think there is some sort of pre-contract to join them, but of course there isn't. He agreed a new contract at Real Madrid and won't be moving anytime soon unless something like €120M offer is made or he could perhaps be offered to Liverpool in an exchange for Alexander Arnold. Manchester United sent scouts. There will always be interest in him and with Mbappe arriving he may need to make his way back to the RW position - although the wide positions are areas where Real Madrid want more depth. Will likely stay.
Vinicius Junior (LW/S) Player was distraught after the abuse and agent has offered him to PSG and Chelsea but the arrival of Mbappe could see further interest. Then you will likely see interest of Manchester United and perhaps PSG making an offer but he is only a second choice Mbappe replacement for them. Chelsea has a preferred option but he may not be attainable.
Players where there has been interest:
Giorgi Mamardashvili (G) Agent offering him around the Premier League but nobody will pay his release clause. Leicester and Spurs are keen at a far lower price. Bayern Munich, Chelsea or Real Madrid may provide a option but the is locked in wil a huge release clause. Leicester interest will go nowhere. Valencia have a replacement in mind.
Reece James (RB) Real Madrid and Bayern Munich maintain an interest. Real Madrid will push for the summer if he stays fit else will look to 2025. An exchange with Aurelien Tchouameni has been discussed.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB/RWB/RM) Seen by Real Madrid as an option to Reece James. May offer an exchange for Rodrygo Goes or could try and persuade the player's agent to have their client run down his contract. I expect a new contract to be agreed.
Alphonso Davies (LWB) Bayern Munich have told Real Madrid and Chelsea he is not for sale but a discussion over an exchange involving Aurelien Tchouameni has happened but will go nowhere. PSG will offer an option. Bayern Munich will look to extend his contract but right now a move to Real Madrid seems very likely.
Marc Cucurella (LB) Attracting interest from Atletico and Manchester United still. Real Madrid enquired but they should now be able to secure their first choice. Wants to stay at Chelsea but he will be made available.
Miguel Gutierrez (LWB) Moved to Girona from Real Madrid who retain a nominal 50% of his rights and can buy him back for a fixed fee of double what they sold him for - so €8M total. Bayern Munich fear losing Alphonso Davies and have Gutierrez as their first choice replacement if that happens. Manchester United may yet look to an offer after sending scouts. Chelsea have spoken to Girona about the player but have preferred options and Manchester City have sent scouts.
Leny Yoro (CB) Lille kiddie who already has PSG, Chelsea and Real Madrid declaring an interest. Manchester City and Manchester United have sent scouts and Manchester City may be keen to do something. May have been noticed by Liverpool when scouting another player against Nantes, but no declared interest at this time - regardless of reports saying they will pay €90M for him. Lille will resist a sale unless someone pays significantly over the odds for him. Chelsea has a preferreed option but Real Madrid may push. Lille will ask for a player on loan as part of any deal with Cesare Casadei and Arda Guler mentioned. The player is keen on Real Madrid.
Antonio Silva (CB) Benfica say that "many scouts" have been to watch the player - perhaps they are looking for someone to pay his €100M buy out clause - a move at that price seems unlikely but PSG and Manchester United are keen and he is first choice for Manchester United next summer but both PSG and Real Madrid should not be discounted. Juventus and Napoli would want a reduction in the asking price to make any move viable. Looked at by Spurs and Manchester City. For Liverpool perhaps a Konate replacement but very unlikely. Discussed with Chelsea during a conversation about another player and perhaps number two on their lengthy list of options but there is a part exchange option.
Willian Pacho (CB) Eintracht Frankfurt have told Real Madrid the left footed CB is not for sale.
Goncalo Inacio (CB) Watched by scouts from a number of PL sides, including Liverpool and Manchester United, but no declared interest. Real Madrid offer a wildcard option. PSG cannot be discounted just yet, but I expect interest to fall away. Sporting will accept a decent offer.
Malick Thiaw (CB/RB) Well respected German defender being considered by Real Madrid and watched on behalf of Chelsea by an ex-player. The Chelsea need is ideally for someone with a different skill set and they have a much preferred first choice and other options.
Amadou Onana (DM/CB/CM) Only moved to Everton in 2022 and they are not looking to sell him but with troubles mounting they may have to listen to offers. West Ham interest has moved on but Arsenal may look again after failing to agree alternatives. Newcastle spoke with Everton in the summer and have failed to sign their primary DM/CM target but will return again this summer. Manchester United had him a long way down their list of targets but failed to sign preferred options in the summer and he may still be of interest, but I rather doubt it. Chelsea have him on a list of midfield options but not at the top, and Barcelona may look to some horsetrading but they have to deal with their own financial issues. Real Madrid may look to a player plus cash deal, but he would largely be used as cover.
Ethan Mbappe (CM) Will join the Real Madrid Castilla.
Jobe Bellingham (CM) Borussia Dortmund are keeping a watchful eye and are attending matches with a thought that they may make an offer if Sunderland do not get promoted. Both Real Madrid and Chelsea have a declared interest.
Jamal Musiala (AM/LW) Bayern Munich will have no interest in selling the player back to Chelsea who have enquired but the player is delaying a new contract and needs to reduce his demands. Real Madrid has a declared interest. Manchester City have asked Bayern Munich for talks over the player as a de Bruyne replacement, but they will resist and keep pushing for a new contract. There has been no approach from Liverpool.
Luis Guilherme (AM) Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona have shown an interest in the player for next summer. Chelsea discussed him during negotiations two other players. Spurs may well have noted him when scouting another Palmeiras player. However, a new contract and a €60M release clause will prove to be an issue.
Roony Bardghji (RW/AM) Left footed kiddie who has attracted attention from Ajax, Spurs and Real Madrid in addition to the long-term interest of Bayern Munich, Chelsea and PSV. Chelsea and Real Madrid would utilise him in the development squads and Chelsea may look to send him to Strasbourg which may not suit the player. Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen may offer options after sending scouts. Copenhagen will be reluctant to sell but are aware that interest will grow.
Antonio Nusa (LW/RW/AM) Chelsea are looking at preferred options as well as Nusa, who they don't value as highly as the asking price and have now recalled Diego Moreira to likely end their interest. Real Madrid interest has shifted to others. Juventus, Spurs, Brentford and Arsenal have sent scouts with Spurs asking for a price - but it is hard to see where he would fit in without departures. Brentford agreed a price with Brugge but the player was unsure. One to watch for the future but seen as a bit of a flake.
Malamine Efekele (RW/F) On the Vision 2030 list for Chelsea - Real Madrid will offer an option. Monaco will not want to sell.
Alejandro Garnacho (LW) Agent is looking to move on Garnacho and Patino after demanding game time from both Manchester United and Arsenal. Garnacho has been offered to Real Madrid knowing that Vinicius Junior may move on, but I am not convinced he would be a regular there. Juventus have also been offered to player as they too seek a LW replacement but I can't see they would bite. Having a good season and will stay where he is.
Iker Bravo (S) On loan from Bayer Leverkusen and RM will exercise their option to buy, but the player will want a roadmap so a transfer is far from certain.
Victor Osimhen (S) Real Madrid interest has gone.
Dusan Vlahovic (S) Real Madrid interest has gone.
Kylian Mbappe (S) Will join Real Madrid in the summer.
Claudio Echeverri (F) Manchester City and Real Madrid are keen on the kiddie with Manchester City offering a loan to Girona.
Thalys (S) Discussed with Chelsea during negotiations over another player. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United have all sent scouts with Manchester United and Benfica both declaring an interest with Palmeriras.
Erling Haaland (S) Team Raiola are open to negotiating with Manchester City to remove a termination clause from his contract that would allow him to leave for €200M in the summer of 2024. Real Madrid were intending to meet the clause in 2024 but will have difficulty in justifying the wages in addition to Mbappe - so it is more likely to be one ofor 2025. The player will likely want Real Madrid who are looking to clear wages still.

Hi ed002 are we interested in kvaratskhelia and if possible any chance of summary of twrgets and ins/out. Much appreciated
{Ed002's Note - No as Real Madrid will be adding Mbappe and have Vinicius Junior in the same position. Ask me in a few weeks about the summer.}
16 Feb 2024 22:50:29
Ed002 is there a chance rodrygo leaves if mbappe joins? And who is interested in him? Thank you
{Ed002's Note - Rodrygo Goes (RW) Real Madrid have no interest in selling but PSG did ask for him as part of a deal for Mbappe before he let his contract run down. Many Liverpool fans think there is some sort of pre-contract to join them, but of course their isn't. He agreed a new contract at Real Madrid and won't be moving anytime soon.}

Hi ed002 with the season almost over is it possible to get summary of ins and out? Thanks you
{Ed002's Note - Perhaps needs an update, but:
Ferland Mendy (LB) Available - injury concerns. Arsenal offer an option.
Nacho Fernandez (CB) Free Agent.
Eduardo Camavinga (CM/DM) Real Madrid will persist with the player who is playing well but is supported by Ancelotti who takes the time to explain instructions to him - the next coach may not take that time. Will stay for next season.
Luca Modric (CM) Real Madrid offer a further year with a transitioning role and very lucrative offers from the Middle East are on the table to follow that.
Tony Kroos (CM) Will stay one more year as Bellingham is integrated.
Dani Ceballos (CM) Free Agent in the summer but Real Madrid may still offer him a new contract - but it is all money dependent as they need to make savings to the wage bill. Bayern Munich have made a proposal to take him as a Free Agent in the summer. Atletico, Aston Villa and Wolves are interested. Has been offered to other sides including Roma and Inter. Valencia are a less attractive option.
Eden Hazard (LW/AM) Fenerbahce, Newcastle and Galatasaray will provide options but the player will likely stay another year and see out his contract. Juventus may offer a short-term deal and Inter Miami may want to take him at no cost in the summer.
Marco Asensio (RW/LW/AM) Having a decent season but out of contract in the summer and not keen on Real Madrid's offer of a new contract at a reduced salary. Looking at options and at 27 there will not be a shortage of them. PSG offer a very viable solution but game time would be an issue. A move to Barcelona is possible, but probably only as cover. Liverpool may still have an interest and with Firmino departing it is no longer difficult to see where he would fit in. Arsenal have a preferred target but have spoken with his agent. Aston Villa have a declared interest and the money is going to be available. Will be offered to Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Juventus but it is unlikely any will be interested.
Mariano Diaz (S) Available as a Free Agent.
Karim Benzema (S) Huge offer from the Middle East will make him think hard about a contract extention in Madrid. Free Agent.
César Azpilicueta (RB/CB) Will have a year left in the summer but if Real Madrid come calling then Chelsea will not stand in his way if he wants to leave. There are complications that could see him stay in England. Chelsea have already signed his replacement and Barcelona already have a right back arriving in the summer, so their interest will likely have gone.
Alphonso Davies (LWB) Bayern Munich have told Real Madrid and Chelsea he is not for sale.
Josko Gvardiol (CB) Opted to join RBL to replace Konate over Leeds. Leeds, again, and Newcastle have asked after him but that will go nowhere. RBL do not want to sell but he is reluctant to agree a new contract but that won't force a summer exit if he does not agree a contract extension before then. RBL want to include a significant termination clause in his contract. Chelsea have him at the top of the list of CBs the club are still considering and tried last Summer and in January to buy him, having a huge offer rejected - but they are still talking to RBL but they don't want to lose two players to Chelsea this summer and have RBL given a huge figure that would facilitate any further talks and chance of a move. One benefit that Chelsea has is RBL interest in taking a Chelsea player in the summer. Chelsea are currently looking to strike a deal for next summer. Juventus, Spurs and Marseille have also sent scouts to watch the player and Spurs have asked about availability but they can all be discounted. Real Madrid have also spoken to RBL about the player. Manchester City see him as a Laporte replacement and have declared an interest in taking him this summer. Barcelona, who had him as an option, have shifted interest to others including a Free Agent. A self-confessed Liverpool supporter and they may be interested but have not declared any interest with his club and may well be scared away by the price. Very, very expensive.
Bruno Guimaraes (DM) Newcastle want a new contract else will price him out of a move to Barcelona, forcing them to return to Neves. Real Madrid and Chelsea maintain an interest.
Jude Bellingham (CM) The transfer will be completed at the start of June.
Nicolo Barella (CM) Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have had approaches turned away. Don't be surprised of a significant offer from PSG or a further approach from Real Madrid - but Inter don't wish to sell and would no doubt demand €100M or so. Liverpool or Spurs may show an interest but Inter have not been approached by either although they have sent scouts. The player does not wish to leave and is expected to sign a new contract. Long term interest of Chelsea went with the player wanting to stay in Italy - although they could yet try to persuade him otherwise. Wildcard may be an approach form Manchester United who have instructed a third party to enquire on their behalf. If Bellingham is confirmed RM interest will go.
Gabri Veiga (CM/AM) Attracting scouts from PL and La Liga. Real Madrid offer an option but the player wants to be a starter and he won't be there. Newcastle may make an offer. Arsenal are keen but need to make a decision about departures. For Manchester United an alternative to Bellingham. Celta Vigo will not look to sell unless relegated.
Mason Mount (AM) Yet to agree a new contract and could depart if he is not more reasonable in his demands - and his demands are very significant. Real Madrid and Juventus, both via a third party, have asked after him. Juventus won't match his wage demands but they have a tax advantage, but I suspect they can be discounted unless atrade for Vlahic, possibly including another player could be arranged. Barcelona have made a direct approach to Chelsea but the salary demands would be an issue. Real Madrid are looking to move on a couple of high earners in the summer so could afford him but again if Bellingham signs interest will go. There is no interest from PSG or Bayern Munich who are two clubs who could afford him. Chelsea are rather miffed with him and will sell in the summer if a new contract is not agreed.
Malamine Efekele (RW/F) On the Vision 2030 list for Chelsea - Real Madrid will offer an option. Monaco will not want to sell.
Dusan Vlahovic (S) Only joined in January 2022 but financial issues that Juventus now have will likely determine if he is sold in the summer. There will be a lot of interest if he is and his agent has approached Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keen. Chelsea may be open to an exchange of players.
Iker Bravo (S) On loan from Bayer Leverkusen and RM will exercise their option to buy.
Romelu Lukaku (S) Wants to stay at Inter - it may just be possible but they would want another year on loan after the first half of this season has been poor. They will look to a smaller loan fee than agreed and a wage cut. The situation needs resolving and discussions will be held but Chelsea will not look to keep him - although the new coach may have a say. There is some notion that he could join Spurs but it seems unlikely to me as I expect Conte to move on or even Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe (F) Real Madrid will look again but must move on Hazard and other high earners. 2024 may be more likely.
Erling Haaland (S) Team Raiola are open to negotiating with Manchester City to remove a termination clause from his contract. Real Madrid were intending to meet the clause in 2024 but may bring it forward a year knowing that PSG may look to an offer. Bayern Munich and Chelsea may still maintain an interest, but the player will likely want Real Madrid who may need decide between him and Mbappe. Affording Bellingham and one of the others in the same window could be a significant problem for Madrid who are looking to clear wages still. PSG would like to replace Messi and Neymar with Haaland but it won't be this summer.

Thanks so much, are we interested in havertz?
{Ed002's Note - Kai Havertz (AM/F) Bayern Munich are keen but right now Chelsea want him the stay so Munich have shifted their attention to another player. Real Madrid offer a wildcard option but it may depend on whether Carlo Ancelotti stays or not, but Chelsea will not look to sell.}
