Hi ed002 are we interested in kvaratskhelia and if possible any chance of summary of twrgets and ins/out. Much appreciated

{Ed002's Note - No as Real Madrid will be adding Mbappe and have Vinicius Junior in the same position. Ask me in a few weeks about the summer.}

Ed002 is there a chance rodrygo leaves if mbappe joins? And who is interested in him? Thank you

{Ed002's Note - Rodrygo Goes (RW) Real Madrid have no interest in selling but PSG did ask for him as part of a deal for Mbappe before he let his contract run down. Many Liverpool fans think there is some sort of pre-contract to join them, but of course their isn't. He agreed a new contract at Real Madrid and won't be moving anytime soon.}

Hi Ed002 who are Madrid's preferred choices to replace Benzema? You've said Kane is one but who's ahead of him on the list? Thanks very much.

Hi Ed,

Who is interested in Tchouameni? Could he be available at the right price?

Hi Ed002,

I know you have said in the past that Real were looking to add Mbappe in the summer of 2024. With Mbappe now informing PSG that he will not activate his contract extension and subsequently PSG seemingly are now look to sell this summer, if he won't extend, does this change Real's plans?

Also, is there anything in the rumours from yesterday that Liverpool are looking at Valverde?

Thanks in advance

{Ed002's Note - If Mbappe is for sale Real Madrid will be one of the interested sides.

Federico Valverde (CM) Real Madrid are not looking to sell the player, previously of interest to Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United, as they expect him to settle in as a regular as Modric and Kroos are coming to the end of their RM careers. That was explained to a PL club who enquired when discussing another player. Manchester City have sent scouts to look at him as they look to add to their Central Midfield options. Liverpool interest could return after losing out on Bellingham but right now they seem to have other targets.}

Hi ed002 with the season almost over is it possible to get summary of ins and out? Thanks you

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps needs an update, but:

Ferland Mendy (LB) Available - injury concerns. Arsenal offer an option.
Nacho Fernandez (CB) Free Agent.
Eduardo Camavinga (CM/DM) Real Madrid will persist with the player who is playing well but is supported by Ancelotti who takes the time to explain instructions to him - the next coach may not take that time. Will stay for next season.
Luca Modric (CM) Real Madrid offer a further year with a transitioning role and very lucrative offers from the Middle East are on the table to follow that.
Tony Kroos (CM) Will stay one more year as Bellingham is integrated.
Dani Ceballos (CM) Free Agent in the summer but Real Madrid may still offer him a new contract - but it is all money dependent as they need to make savings to the wage bill. Bayern Munich have made a proposal to take him as a Free Agent in the summer. Atletico, Aston Villa and Wolves are interested. Has been offered to other sides including Roma and Inter. Valencia are a less attractive option.
Eden Hazard (LW/AM) Fenerbahce, Newcastle and Galatasaray will provide options but the player will likely stay another year and see out his contract. Juventus may offer a short-term deal and Inter Miami may want to take him at no cost in the summer.
Marco Asensio (RW/LW/AM) Having a decent season but out of contract in the summer and not keen on Real Madrid's offer of a new contract at a reduced salary. Looking at options and at 27 there will not be a shortage of them. PSG offer a very viable solution but game time would be an issue. A move to Barcelona is possible, but probably only as cover. Liverpool may still have an interest and with Firmino departing it is no longer difficult to see where he would fit in. Arsenal have a preferred target but have spoken with his agent. Aston Villa have a declared interest and the money is going to be available. Will be offered to Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Juventus but it is unlikely any will be interested.
Mariano Diaz (S) Available as a Free Agent.
Karim Benzema (S) Huge offer from the Middle East will make him think hard about a contract extention in Madrid. Free Agent.

César Azpilicueta (RB/CB) Will have a year left in the summer but if Real Madrid come calling then Chelsea will not stand in his way if he wants to leave. There are complications that could see him stay in England. Chelsea have already signed his replacement and Barcelona already have a right back arriving in the summer, so their interest will likely have gone.
Alphonso Davies (LWB) Bayern Munich have told Real Madrid and Chelsea he is not for sale.
Goncalo Inacio (CB) Watched by scouts from a number of PL sides, including Liverpool and Manchester United, but no declared interest. Real Madrid offer a wildcard option. PSG cannot be discounted just yet, but I expect interest to fall away. Sporting will accept a decent offer.
Josko Gvardiol (CB) Opted to join RBL to replace Konate over Leeds. Leeds, again, and Newcastle have asked after him but that will go nowhere. RBL do not want to sell but he is reluctant to agree a new contract but that won't force a summer exit if he does not agree a contract extension before then. RBL want to include a significant termination clause in his contract. Chelsea have him at the top of the list of CBs the club are still considering and tried last Summer and in January to buy him, having a huge offer rejected - but they are still talking to RBL but they don't want to lose two players to Chelsea this summer and have RBL given a huge figure that would facilitate any further talks and chance of a move. One benefit that Chelsea has is RBL interest in taking a Chelsea player in the summer. Chelsea are currently looking to strike a deal for next summer. Juventus, Spurs and Marseille have also sent scouts to watch the player and Spurs have asked about availability but they can all be discounted. Real Madrid have also spoken to RBL about the player. Manchester City see him as a Laporte replacement and have declared an interest in taking him this summer. Barcelona, who had him as an option, have shifted interest to others including a Free Agent. A self-confessed Liverpool supporter and they may be interested but have not declared any interest with his club and may well be scared away by the price. Very, very expensive.
Bruno Guimaraes (DM) Newcastle want a new contract else will price him out of a move to Barcelona, forcing them to return to Neves. Real Madrid and Chelsea maintain an interest.
Jude Bellingham (CM) The transfer will be completed at the start of June.
Nicolo Barella (CM) Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have had approaches turned away. Don't be surprised of a significant offer from PSG or a further approach from Real Madrid - but Inter don't wish to sell and would no doubt demand €100M or so. Liverpool or Spurs may show an interest but Inter have not been approached by either although they have sent scouts. The player does not wish to leave and is expected to sign a new contract. Long term interest of Chelsea went with the player wanting to stay in Italy - although they could yet try to persuade him otherwise. Wildcard may be an approach form Manchester United who have instructed a third party to enquire on their behalf. If Bellingham is confirmed RM interest will go.
Gabri Veiga (CM/AM) Attracting scouts from PL and La Liga. Real Madrid offer an option but the player wants to be a starter and he won't be there. Newcastle may make an offer. Arsenal are keen but need to make a decision about departures. For Manchester United an alternative to Bellingham. Celta Vigo will not look to sell unless relegated.
Mason Mount (AM) Yet to agree a new contract and could depart if he is not more reasonable in his demands - and his demands are very significant. Real Madrid and Juventus, both via a third party, have asked after him. Juventus won't match his wage demands but they have a tax advantage, but I suspect they can be discounted unless atrade for Vlahic, possibly including another player could be arranged. Barcelona have made a direct approach to Chelsea but the salary demands would be an issue. Real Madrid are looking to move on a couple of high earners in the summer so could afford him but again if Bellingham signs interest will go. There is no interest from PSG or Bayern Munich who are two clubs who could afford him. Chelsea are rather miffed with him and will sell in the summer if a new contract is not agreed.
Malamine Efekele (RW/F) On the Vision 2030 list for Chelsea - Real Madrid will offer an option. Monaco will not want to sell.
Dusan Vlahovic (S) Only joined in January 2022 but financial issues that Juventus now have will likely determine if he is sold in the summer. There will be a lot of interest if he is and his agent has approached Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keen. Chelsea may be open to an exchange of players.
Iker Bravo (S) On loan from Bayer Leverkusen and RM will exercise their option to buy.
Romelu Lukaku (S) Wants to stay at Inter - it may just be possible but they would want another year on loan after the first half of this season has been poor. They will look to a smaller loan fee than agreed and a wage cut. The situation needs resolving and discussions will be held but Chelsea will not look to keep him - although the new coach may have a say. There is some notion that he could join Spurs but it seems unlikely to me as I expect Conte to move on or even Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe (F) Real Madrid will look again but must move on Hazard and other high earners. 2024 may be more likely.
Erling Haaland (S) Team Raiola are open to negotiating with Manchester City to remove a termination clause from his contract. Real Madrid were intending to meet the clause in 2024 but may bring it forward a year knowing that PSG may look to an offer. Bayern Munich and Chelsea may still maintain an interest, but the player will likely want Real Madrid who may need decide between him and Mbappe. Affording Bellingham and one of the others in the same window could be a significant problem for Madrid who are looking to clear wages still. PSG would like to replace Messi and Neymar with Haaland but it won't be this summer.

Thanks so much, are we interested in havertz?

{Ed002's Note - Kai Havertz (AM/F) Bayern Munich are keen but right now Chelsea want him the stay so Munich have shifted their attention to another player. Real Madrid offer a wildcard option but it may depend on whether Carlo Ancelotti stays or not, but Chelsea will not look to sell.}

Hi ed2. On Liv site i ask you about Mbappe and you said that RM has other target for 2024. Can you tell who is it?

{Ed002's Note - They will attempt to sign Haaland from Manchester City in 2024.}

Nice one. Will they have the financial capabilities to complete both Mbappe this year and Haaland next year? I would assume both would command massive wages. Having both in one team is huge financial commitment. Plus the La Liga wage cap etc.

{Ed002's Note - They expect to be able to with four of their top five earners leaving.}

Do you have the latest brief summary on what Real planning to do this summer Ed? Or is it still the same as what you wrote down below?

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid will look to avoid any significant January transfers but will look to Azpilicueta.
Cesar Azpilicueta (RB/CB) Real Madrid will make a January offer.
Joao Cancelo (LB) Wanted by Real Madrid.
Florentino (DM) Seen by Real Madrid as a Casemiro replacement. Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool have spoken with his agent. Benfica have said they do not intend to sell, but a significant offer may tempt them.
Yeremy Pino (RW/LW/AM) His agent spoke with Manchester City and Chelsea last summer about the player but Pino agreed a new contract at Villareal with a significant €80M buy-out clause and a contract to 2027. Chelsea have kept him on a list of potential wide players at the behest of an ex-player who was offered the job of DoF. Barcelona opted for Raphina. Was orginally the first choice replacement for Pepe at Arsenal but is no longer, although they retain an interest. Real Madrid have him on their lengthy list of potential replacesments for Eden Hazard. Prior interest of Liverpool as a Salah replacement will have gone.
Alexis Vega (LW/F) Mexican international from Deportivo Guadalajara who has been watched by a number of European sides from Spain and England, including Real Madrid and Liverpool. Chelsea have spoken with his club but Wolves have tried to negotiate a deal and found that the likely preferred option will be Tigres.
Mykhaylo Mudryk (LW) Tentative agreement was reached with the player and Shakhtar Donetsk for a summer move to Bayer Leverkusen - he would have been a Diaby replacement - but it never happened. Arsenal asked his agent after his availability at the start of the transfer window but not his club, and no formal offer was made, although his club are aware of the interest. Player has said he would like to join Arsenal. Newcastle have him on a list of options going forward but it will go nowhere. Chelsea and Bayern Munich have scouted him this season with both sides looking for long term wide solutions still. Alternate to Leao for Chelsea. Real Madrid are considering him as an Eden Hazard replacement. Manchester City had a declared interest, probably as a Silva replacement, but that has gone.Wildcard interest of Brentford and a low offer from Everton will obviously go nowhere. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool. Asking price will likely rise to €80M or more.
Kylian Mbappe (S) Wants to move to Real Madrid but for them the financial outlay could be too much. PSG will not sell unless they can recoup something like €200M-€250M which will remove just about all clubs from any deal. Those who could potentially afford it are held back in Spain by the salary he would request and in England by the cost of the total outlay, although the Liverpool supporters remain absolutely convinced he will be joining them. Option for Real Madrid still if they can make space in the wage costs at the club but could not fund the transfer fee without significant sales. Similar is true for Barcelona who are continuing to regroup and will also continue to pick up players as Free Agents. Manchester City could potentially offer a wildcard option. Chelsea and Manchester United would likely both see the outlay as too high with wake demands of more than £750k per week before bonuses.
Erling Haaland (S) Team Raiola are open to negotiating with Manchester City to remove a termination clause from his contract - but there is a reluctance as Real Madrid are intending on meet the clause in 2024.
Matheus Nascimento (S) Botofogo youngster that Chelsea and Real Madrid have a sustained interest in. Will end up in Madrid I would think.
Endrick (AM/F) Kiddie who has attracted scouts from Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG, Benfica and Barcelona, and probably others. Expect offers from Real Madrid and PSG to be made after he has signed a Pro contract. Manchester City would have a significant advantage over any other English sides as they could move him to a club within the City Group whereas others would have to wait until he is 18 although it is the interest of Chelsea that is to the fore. PSG had a low informal offer rejected but do remain interested. I would expect a move to Real Madrid at some point, but for now he will stay where he is and Chelsea may be able to make an attractive proposal to the player.

Interesting to see that there is no Bellingham in there Ed2. Are Madrid content with their midfield players right now? They have good young core midfield in Camavinga, Tchouameni and Valverde. They might be settle for years there.

{Ed002's Note - They would like to take Bellingham but do not value him at anything near what the asking price will be.}

Hi Ed002

Just trying again for the update (as per above)
No worries if you can’t or don’t have the time yet

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - Potential Departures and where interest has been shown:
Andriy Lunin (G) Borussia Dortmund have him as their first choice - player wanted to kickstart his career away from Madrid but Madrid want him to stay. West Ham offered a loan option that was rejected. Marseille provided a wildcard.
Marcelo (LB) Out of contract. Fluminense are keen.
Eder Militao (CB) Lots of interest but has signed a contract extension.
Victor Chust (CB) Moved to Cadiz.
Casemiro (DM) PSG may be interested still. Juventus are keen. Will stay.
Luka Modric (CM) Out of contract. There is at least one offer from the Middle East. Signed a one year extension.
Toni Kroos (CM) Offered to Newcastle.
Eduardo Camavinga (CM/DM) wants to be starting every game at Real Madrid but the coach will not tolerate a prima donna. The chances will come more often next season with Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro all aging and coming to the end of their Real Madrid careers. Ancelotti wants the player to settle and form the basis of a new midfield with Aurelien Tchouameni.
Dani Ceballos (CM) Real Madrid will look to move the player on again. Real Betis and Inter Milan offer options. The player may look to try and stay.
Federico Valverde (CM) Real Madrid are not looking to sell the player, previously of interest to Liverpool and Manchester United, as they expect him to settle in as a regular as Modric and Kroos are coming to the end of their RM careers. Real Madrid are aware Bayern Munich see him as an option to replace Tolisso - but it would take a huge offer for that to happen. Manchester City have sent scouts to look at him as they look to add to their Central Midfield options. Liverpool interest will have shifted to more financially viable targets and Manchester United have clear alternate targets in mind.
Reinier Jesus (AM) It has not worked out well in two years at Real Madid and now his loan at Dortmund. Real Madrid need to make a decision to let him have Isco's spot, cut their losses and look to sell or perhaps try one more loan, and Roma offer such a chance. He will be sold if possible, to raise funds. Benfica had been interested but they have other plans now.
Brahim Diaz (AM) Milan have an option to buy in 2023. Real Madrid will want to sell this summer and will offer Milan a discount. Milan will hold firm on the loan for next season.
Isco (AM/LW) Free Agent but there is less interest from Inter, Manchester City and Juventus but interest remains with Sevilla - and staying in Spain suits the player. Milan and Bayern Munich offered options at the right price but both appear to have stepped back. Roma offer rejected. The player wants Sevilla but he would need to take a huge wage cut. Spurs and Newcastle will possibly offer an option. Real Betis would be the likely favourites to sign him.
Gareth Bale (LW/RW/F) Moved to Los Angeles FC.
Marco Asensio (RW/LW) Goals have largely dried up and his representative is working with a third-party agent to find a club willing to pay something like €40M for the player. The third party has said that the player ideally wants a club in the Champions League but the discussions he has had have been with Leicester City, Newcastle and Leeds so far, and admits knocking on the door of other PL clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs. Player is almost certainly not open to moving to a side not in the Champions League. Milan and Juventus were approached but showed no interest, although Milan have since met directly with his representative to discuss price having stepped back from another target - although Ziyech is also in the mix for them. I suspect he might be seen as an option by Liverpool being able to play on either wing or in an AM role - and Liverpool have approached his representative. PSG provide a potential option. Real Madrid will be open to using him in a part exchange deal of some type but finding a buyer at the asking price might be difficult but will also perhaps try and do something with Dortmund. A new contract seems unlikely, but Madrid will not want him to run down his contract so I suspect a reduced price around the €25M mark will get him moved on..
Take Kubo (RW) Real Valladolid and Real Sociedad offer options.
Rodrygo (RW/F) With Vinicius Junior, probably the safest of the Real Madrid wingers. Will extend his contract before the start of the season and not for sale.
Eden Hazard (LW/RW) Real Madrid have problems one way or another with most of their wingers. Hazard will be another that Real Madrid will listen to offers for and he has already been offered to several Premier League sides. West Ham indicated at the right price they would be interested but the player would not be interested in such a move. It is difficult to talk of the timings of transfers but Hazard is, like most of the wingers at Real Madrid, potentially available for a transfer and is being actively offered around. Whilst there is some support from someone senior at Chelsea, others are not keen to pay the asking price for a 30 year old so they are not an option. I think a move to England unlikely unless the fee drops considerably. PSG, Milan and Borussia Dortmund may offer solutions at the right price. May well be offered to Lille as part of another transfer. Has been offered to Newcastle as well - and they are open to further discussions. Player will look to stay, creating an impasse.
Vinicius Junior (LW) New contract.
Mariano Diaz (S) Sevilla offer an option. Leeds another. Fenerbahce might win out.
Karim Benzema (S) Time has come to move on – probably next summer - the US probably beckons.
Luka Jovic (S) Moved to Fiorentina.

Players of interest to Real Madrid:
Real Madrid are after a LB, CB, W (depending on departures maybe 2) and S.
David Ospina (G) Free agent wanted by Real Madid. Won’t happen.
Gabriel Slonina (G) Chelsea want the kiddie from Chicago Fire and will loan him back for two years after being advised by a very special friend of the club who has an astonishing reputation. Real Madrid offer an option.
Youcef Atal (RB) Nice would be reluctant to sell but the player is well liked by clubs including Real Madrid. Seems unlikely.
Miguel Gutierrez (LB) Outstanding youngster who despite some health issues will press for the first team role.
Fran Garcia (LB) Rayo Vallecano would sell their 50% rights back to Real Madrid for a small fee. Could provide the back up to Mendy Real Madrid will need when Marcelo leaves - but where does that leave Gutierrez.
Jose Gaya (LWB) No longer the kiddie that Chelsea and Barcelona have repeatedly tried to take from Valencia but finances may make the club think if a very good offer arrives. An option for Real Madrid if Mendy were to leave but unlikely to accept being a back up to Mendy.
Angelino (LB/LM) Continues to want to be moving on and has made it clear that he wants a move to Real Madrid, but they are ideally looking for cover. RBL will let him move on if their valuation is met. Real Madrid seems an unlikely destination and the player will not want to be cover.
Sergio Reguilon (LB) Not happy wants to return to Madrid. Interest from Madrid seems very unlikely. Loan to Sevilla is possible.
Matthijs de Ligt (CB) Moving elsewhere.
Merih Demiral (CB) Moving elsewhere.
Jules Kounde (CB) Moving elsewhere.
Caglar Soyuncu (CB) Leicester will fight to keep him with Real Madrid and Inter declaring an interest.
Pau Torres (CB) Will move elsewhere.
Milan Skriniar (CB) Won’t happen.
Alessio Romagnoli (CB) Moved elsewhere.
Marquinhos (CB/RB/DM) Won’t happen.
Matthias Ginter (CB) Moved elsewhere.
Alessandro Bastoni (CB) Will stay another season at Inter.
Gleison Bremer (CB) This will drag out but he will be moving elsewhere.
Antonio Rudiger (CB) Signed from Chelsea as a Free Agent.
Wesley Fofana (CB) Has been recommended to Newcastle. Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea have all sent scouts to watch him. Unlikely.
Weverton (CB) Real Madrid want to take the youngster in to the B team.
Benoit Badiashile (CB) Real Madrid and Chelsea remain interested, but he is not first choice for either and the asking price is very high. Unlikely.
Nico Schlotterbeck (CB) Moved elsewhere.
Melayro Bogarde (CB/DM) Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all interested in the Dutch youngster who plays for Hoffenheim. Raw and one for the future.
Niklas Sule (CB) Moved elsewhere.
Mohamed Camara (DM) Will move elsewhere.
Kalvin Phillips (DM) Moved elsewhere.
Aurelien Tchouameni (DM/CM) Joined Real Madrid from Monaco.
Marc Roca (DM) Moved elsewhere.
Mikel Merino (DM) A potential Casemiro replacement but not for this summer.
Fabian Ruiz (CM/DM/AM) is still seen by Real Madrid as a replacement for Kroos and/or Modric but is not first choice - although they could still turn to him and are keeping their interest known to Napoli. There have been discussions with his agent involving Manchester City and Bayern Munich. Napoli have also met and spoken with Barcelona who see him as a possible replacement for Pjanic - but the not at the not unrealistic €60M asking price (not the €100M Aurelio De Laurentiis is demanding) as money is still an issue for them. I am not aware of any approach to his agent or Napoli by Liverpool. His agent thinks that PSG and Manchester United could also look to him. Do not lose sight of Inter or Real Madrid. Something could happen for Madrid.
Ngolo Kante (DM/CM) Inter wanted a package deal for Kante, Emerson and Giroud last summer but wanted include a player in the deal (Chelsea had no interest in either player offered) and if Inter do not need to put too much cash up front - another solution would need to be found. PSG may still provide and option but the new manager would need to be consulted. The interest of Real Madrid remains whilst they decide over the future of Camavinga. Last summer I suggested he will stay - 2022 I am not so sure.
Youri Tielemans (CM) will not sign a new contract so will be available in the summer at a reduced fee. His agent confirms that there is interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid who are looking for a Luka Modric replacement and that he has been approached by a third-party representing Newcastle and is aware that other clubs, including Bayern Munich and Liverpool have scouted the player. Wildcard might be Manchester United.
Enzo Fernandez (CM) Moved elsewhere.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM) Interest has gone.
Nicolo Barella (CM) Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have had approaches turned away. Don't be surprised of a significant offer from PSG or Spurs. It will be rejected and the player is expected to sign a new contract and stay.
Vitinha (CM/AM) Moved elsewhere.
Paul Pogba (CM) Moved elsewhere.
Bukayo Saka (LM/LW/RW) Real Madrid, Atletico and Juventus have declared an interest at the behest of his "agent" (and I use that word in the broadest terms) who is looking for a substantial fee himself. Arsenal want to keep him. If he were to come up for sale then Liverpool might well be interested - he is young, home grown, versatile. Not one for this summer.
Pablo Torre (AM) Barcelona will win out over Real Madrid for the well like Santander player.
Kingsley Coman (LW/RW) New contract signed in January. BM will now sell another winger.
Fabio Carvalho (AM) moved elsewhere.
Christopher Nkunku (AM/LW/RW) New contract.
Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld (LW/F) Interest has gone.
Leroy Sane (LW) Offered by his agent to Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Yeremy Pino (RW/LW/AM) His agent spoke with Manchester City and Chelsea last summer about the player but he agreed a new contract at Villareal with a significant €80M buy-out clause and a contract to 2027. Barcelona could still maintain interest in a player they looked to sign as a kiddie but the price is an issue. Real Madrid have him on their lengthy list of potential replacesments for Eden Hazard.
Jeremy Doku (W) Bayern Munich turned their attention to him but have stepped back after being told an asking price by his agent that reflected Rennes paying over the odds for him and the club will look to keeping him another year - as Rennes do not consider him for sale. Liverpool have had a long-term interest in the player. Real Madrid consider him an option to replace departing wingers. It was suggested to Arsenal that he would be a good replacement if they can off-load Pepe. Perhaps one for the summer but lack of goals might be a concern for Liverpool.
Dominik Szoboszlai (LM/CM/LW) RBL have no desire to sell.
Kylian Mbappe (RW/S/F) Not yet.
Mo Salah (RW) New contract.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) even with Everton in need of adding a striker to replace Tosun and Rodon, the chances of DCL being sold unless a very significant offer arises are small. However, Arsenal are still looking for a striker and interest remains. The Real Madrid coach has said he is one of the rare English players who he thinks would take to football on the continent - so there may be interest. Other clubs looking for a striker such as Spurs have other preferred options. Manchester United may also provide an option.
Matias Arezo (S) Uruguayan youngster wanted by Real Madrid for their B side. Huge interest in him from Boca Juniors, Ajax, Sevilla and RBL.
Rafael Leao (W/F) I cannot see the player moving to Newcastle who have enquired but PSG have sent scouts and he might be an option for Real Madrid as they clear the decks - and they would look to including Marco Asensio and Luka Jovic in a deal which will cost around €120M. Manchester City see him as an attacking addition if Sterling leaves. Milan want him to stay and sign a new contract, but fear a significant offer from Manchester City, Chelsea, Madrid or PSG. Chelsea having lost out on their preferred option may look to a significant offer but have to keep in mind other work they must do. Compensation fees have been agreed with Sporting and sell on fees are due to Lille.
Jonathan David (S/AM) Will be moving elsewhere.
Victor Osimhen (S) Napoli made it clear to Chelsea who enquired just before the summer transfer window closed that even €100M would not buy the player. Chelsea and Manchester City maintain an interest and Real Madrid could look to him as an option to Haaland. Bayern Munich and PSG have both sent scouts and both will be looking to add strikers next summer.
Erling Braut Haaland (S) No
Alexander Isak (S) Michael Zorc wanted to take him back from Real Sociedad regardless of any different wishes of the coach at Borussia Dortmund and the interest from BD may continue still. Barcelona see him as a possible addition but are not well placed to add him this summer. Manchester City interest has gone whilst Chelsea considered him as a Tammy Abraham replacement last summer but considered the asking price high. Manchester United have watched the player and will need a Cavani replacement in the summer and will have a new coach - but seem unlikely. Arsenal see him as an option to their preferred Lacazette replacements but the price is a concern and again they will not be attractive. Spurs remain keen. Juventus also offer a solution for the player. Do not be surprised if Milan look to a deal. Newcastle are keen but a less likely destination. Real Madrid are very keen. Real Sociedad have financial woes and may take the opportunity to profit now they have removed the buy back clause to keep him this season. They will seek the full €70M termination fee in cash from sides other than Borussia Dortmund who will have a discount - but will likely not get takers at that price.

hey Ed, since it looks like pochetino will soon no longer be the coach of PSG, i wanted to ask if Real could try to get him as coach this summer as there has been interest from both sides for quite some time. I don't want to be disrespectful to Ancelotti or anyone else, so it's no problem if you don't want to reply.

{Ed002's Note - I am not expecting CA to leave this summer.}

Hey Ed,
I was wondering if Madrid had any plans to make personnel changes in their midfield over the summer? They have a number of guys getting up there in age (Modric, Kroos, and Casemiro) in addition to a number of guys with potential for a larger role (Valverde and Camavinga). Thanks so much for your wisdom and hope all is well!

Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are all at the tail end of their careers at Real Madrid. Valverde has been of interest to others but will stay. Camavinga has been a bit of a problem and needs to understand better his role. They have an interest in adding a DM and have been looking at Marc Roca, Mikel Merino, Mohamed Camara, Kalvin Phillips and Ryan Gravenberch. In terms of a versatile CM player preference is for Aurelien Tchouameni although other options such as Paul Pogba, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Fabian Ruiz and Ngolo Kante.}

Plenty of rumours that Real Madrid might be confident of securing some/all of the following in the Summer:

M’bappe (free)
(Haaland) his preferred location

Pogba - free
T’choumeni - Real apparently been putting the ground work in
Rudiger- free
Tielemans - his preferred destination after refusing contract extension

If true, will be some team Real can put out next season!!

Real Madrid very keen to sign Mbappe we know, Camavinga added during the summer, any other players Real are seriously looking at as part of their long term vision?

{Ed002's Note - Yes they have a large number players they are considering including the likes of Haaland. There will be plenty of changes over the next year.}

Hi Ed,

Do you think Madrid now have the necessary finances to pull off an Mbappe deal this summer given their sales to date?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, they achieved all of the required savings and have players who will leave over the next couple of weeks.}

With Varane and Ramos gone, would pau torres be one of Madrid's options or are they not looking to bring anyone else in?

{Ed002's Note - Pau Torres is top of their lengthy list of options.}

Thanks ed and does interest still remain from united now they have varane?

{Ed002's Note - No, they wanted Pau Torres but it was not possible. Hence Varane.}

Ed's,

Seeing a post on another Page. How does Real Madrid's attempts to sign Martinez from Inter effect their plans for signing Mbappe and Haaland?
3 similiar players. Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - They are interested in Mbappe this year but not Haaland unless Mbappe signs a new contract in Paris.}

Hi ed. any chance for a quick update on madrid? thanks.

{Ed002's Note - There are large numbers of potential comings and goings - I can answer specific questions if you have any. Calderon is using a long-term debt to gain political points but the debt has been offset by the Adidas deal (about 18 months ago) which they offset existing debt and borrowed against - so it is not an issue. They were tasks last summer with offsetting €190M in sales and wages which they have effectively done. They are now in goodish shape and will continue to sell and have already been negotiating for four (ish) major purchases this summer with a couple of options. So whilst it is conceptually correct over a longer-term period, they have the income to offset it already - plus they did very well last summer in transactions and will continue to do so. There is a plan going forward. The need to behave responsibly and they are one of the better sides setting themselves up for what might need to be a reshaped future.}

Ok then ed 2 questions
1.Are they still looking at cb options or it depends on varane and militao leaving?
2.Are the primary cm options is still camavinga and giovanni reyna?

{Ed002's Note - (1) Yes, Ramos has gone and Varane is probably going to go. Real Madrid know they need to add two CBs - they have one already but do not want to be adding three, so Nacho will extend and Militao will likely stay. (2) Giovanni Reyna and Camavinga are not CM players. They have other options in CM.}

Is mbappe more likely to happen this year or next year ed? and if it happen does PSG have any replacement in mind?

{Ed002's Note - Kylian Mbappe (RW/S/F) is the primary target for Real Madrid in 2021 - they will face a challenge from Juventus who will be open to include players in the deal. Manchester City have certainly considered Mbappe but I think it unlikely they will commit to the €200M transfer fee, huge signing on fee and huge wages. Liverpool would also be in a similar position and the money would be a major issue for them. PSG don't want to sell him and at the very least will expect him to agree a one or two year extension to his existing contract that runs until 2022, that will keep his price buoyant - and that seems the most likely outcome but he may want a commitment that he can join Real Madrid next summer. Without a commitment he says he will not sign a new contract. But Ideally PSG want him to agree a new long term deal and are willing to offer him €750k per week for a minimum two year extension.

PSG have a number of options to add if he leaves but are not progressing them right now. Messi is being offered but the numbers are huge and Barceloa want to keep him.

Hi Ed002,
Who are the Centre Backs Madrid plan to recruit and who would be leaving?

{Ed002's Note - They have a number of targets to replace Sergio Ramos and Eder Militao or Raphael Varane.}

Hi Eds. With Zidane's position looking worse by the day, who would you think are the contenders to take the seat next? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect nothing will happen until the end of the season and then they will agree to part company. If it were now then Massimiliano Allegri would be the most likely - but in the summer perhaps Guti will be favoured over Raul - or perhaps the other way around. It would be a year too soon for Joachim Low.}

Cheers Ed002. Do you think Guti or Raul would be good appointments given the size of expectation?

{Ed002's Note - Raul is "the peoples choice" - Guti may have the edge. Both are Real Madrid through and through which is seen as a good thing but it does not always work in reality.}

Ed002, possible to ask who Real are willing to sell at the minute?

{Ed002's Note - Marcelo (LB) no takers but has been offered around
Sergio Ramos (CB) PSG want a January agreement to take him as a Free Agent in the summer. Real Madrid want to extend his contract.
Eder Militao (CB) Bayern Munich accept that they will need to add two CBs to replace Boateng and Alaba and Militao provides an option they are very keen on. Real Madrid is looking to sell Militao and others to raise funds for the summer but will probably not be open to a loan in January unless there is an obligation to buy above their current €50M asking price. There will be a discussion between the clubs to see if a deal could be done to perhaps let Bayern Munich have Militao for €50M in January if Alaba were to move the other way in January rather than wait until the summer - Alaba's representative would likely favour this as he has failed to persuade another club to make an offer for Alaba with RM preferred over the interest of Juventus by the player. The other club who has spoken with Real Madrid about Militao is Spurs, with Mr Mourinho very keen on striking a deal after it has become clear that they probably cannot sign their first-choice target. Spurs have had a discussion with Real Madrid about another player and the Gareth Bale situation and would like clarity on each of these matters. I do not know of any approach by Liverpool.
Casemiro (DM) player wants to stay and will if RM cannot get the desired DM.
Luka Modric (M) Out of contract but talks to extend will happen.
Dani Ceballos (CM)
Isco (AM/LW) wants out but there is less interest from Manchester City and Juventus but interest remains with Inter and Sevilla - and staying in Spain suits the player. PSG, Milan and Bayern Munich offer options at the right price. Player wants Sevilla.
Lucas Vazquez (RW) Spurs were talking with Real Madrid as the price is seen as affordable but player wishes to stay and has rejected a move to Qatar - a new deal is unlikely and Milan might be interested.
Lucas Vazquez (RW) out of contract in the summer. Prior interest of Liverpool has gone. Spurs are keen.
Gareth Bale (RW/F) There will be a discussion to be had about the future with options heading back to Madrid, being sold to Spurs (what Madrid want) and another loan.
Mariano Diaz (S) It is true that Real Madrid have the representatives of Mariano Diaz offering him around on ideally a loan to buy option as they continue to clear the decks ready for a summer spending spree. Diaz is an out and out striker who had a very good season at Lyon three years ago but is simply not good enough for Real Madrid where the goals return has been well below average. He has rejected loans to several clubs already inclding West Brom and Brighton - West Ham may offer solution but commiting to an obligation to buy may not be wise
Luca Jovic (S) has the option to return to Eintract Frankfurt on loan and that will likely suit all parties and will soon probably be confirmed. He was being offered to Napoli as part of the deal for Ruiz but had a broken heel to recover from first and then Real Madrid stopped looking to major signings this past summer having "delayed" four signings to next summer. Roma (having lost out on their two preferred choices), Inter and Milan will likely fight it out and offer Real Madrid some complicated deal invloving an initial loan. Benfica were interested but opted for Luca Waldschmidt. Milan will want a loan to buy from January - but will want an option rather than an obligation to buy. I don't see West Ham in the loop.}

Ed002, I've had a little look and can't see anything up to date regarding Real Madrid future plans. Any chance of a quick update?
Many thanks
Kj

{Ed002's Note - Dayot Upamecano (CB) will be looked at again and has been looked at by looked at by Bayern Munich. Barcelona have DU on a long list of CBs - but they are fearful of making another Umtiti or Mina type error. Staying where he is until 2021 when he is first choice for Real Madrid.
Benoit Badiashile (CB) maybe an alternative to DU in 2021.
David Alaba (CB/LB) - Juventus are in talks over a pre-contract. Manchester City could provide an option but wages will be an issue. Real Madrid and Barcelona would also struggle with the wages.
Eduardo Camavinga (DM/CM) if the player continues his good performances Rennes will look for a summer 2021 auction. Serious approaches for Camavinga have been made by Real Madrid, PSG, Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs - but Arsenal can be discounted as they moved to by Partey and Spurs will likely not be of interest. Interest has also been shown by Borussia Dortmund (who were quoted €100M), Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Genk - but I would discount all of these now. There has been a recent discussion with Chelsea but he won't be a priority for them unless Kante were to depart and other options were not available. A move to England for the kiddie is less likely than a move to Spain. PSG and Real Madrid were considering taking a chance on him in the summer of 2020 but would not pay the revised COVID-19 asking price of €75M. Julien Stephan says they want to keep him and has explained that an early move could stall his career through lack of game time. 2021 - he is a primary target for Real Madrid.
Giovanni Reyna (AM) Real Madrid have declared an interest. Will try and take him in 2021.
Kylian Mbappe (RW/S/F) is the primary target for Real Madrid in 2021 - they will face a challenge from Juventus who will be open to include players in the deal. PSG don't want to sell him and at the very least will expect him to extend a one or two year extension to his existing contract that runs until 2022, that will keep his price buayant. But Ideally PSG want him to agree a new long term deal.
Jadon Sancho (RW) - option to Mbappe - and if Bale leaves for good and interest goes in Mane and Salah and a player is offered up - then it is possible.
Erling Braut Haaland (S) It would take a lot of money plus a player or two in exchange to make it work - a priority for Real Madrid in 2021 even if Mbappe does not sign - and if the money stretches. There will also be interest from Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Juventus - and I expect Manchester City to push although Dortmund will resist a sale in the summer but may commit to a 2022 sale to Real Madrid, which is the longer term plan.}

Regarding jadon sancho ed, wut do you mean by interest in mane and salah??

{Ed002's Note - It is pretty clear, Jadon Sancho will be an option to Mbappe if Real Madid to not follow up on any interest in Mane or Salah - and they won't be interested in Salah, and I rather doubt in Mane.}
