Hi Ed (s), reports coming out yesterday/today that there's been contact between Madrid & MUFC regarding Modric and Ed001 said last week that the ball's in United's court after having being made aware of his availibility - I was just wondering if there's been any advancement here or is it just the same news? And I know that you prefer to avoid speculation but do you think it's likely that MUFC could come in with a bid?
I wouldn't have thought he'd have even been offered if Ed hadn't of said anything, as I thought he was well liked by Ancelotti.

Thanks {Ed001's Note - they have a lot of players in there, it is a case of not having many that could be moved on anywhere. The wages they are on lowers the options to sell most of them, as no one else is going to offer Kaka, for instance, the money he is currently on. Plus they wouldn't get much in the way of a transfer fee for him, so it makes little sense to let him go. Modric, on the other hand, is a fringe player with a high transfer value. Someone they can sell for a decent fee and who could get a wage that would tempt him to move. There is no news on it, that I know of, but I would think he was a very good alternative to Fabregas, personally. Similar type of player, one who also is proven in the English Prem. I don't know if Moyes has any interest in him though.}

Thanks Ed. I would've thought that United would be looking to step up their pursuit of Modric seeing as he'd be just as good a solution to their midfield problems whilst being slightly cheaper and probably easier to convince to leave where he is now behind.

Ed, anything in the rumours involving MUFC and ozil?

ts87 {Ed001's Note - all I know is that Ozil was considering his position, but then decided to stay. There were issues with a number of players under Mourinho and with each other, it was not a camp that worked together. Now it is a fresh start and Ozil is intent on staying. So it does seem unlikely.}
